Under the baton of Nick Downs, Synchordia Singers has quickly established itself as a vibrant and welcoming community choir. Originally accompanied by Robert Hunt, and later by Jane Noakes on piano, the choir has explored a wide and engaging range of repertoire.
Building around early themed programmes such as Magic & Fantasy, the Singers have performed music spanning classical, popular and jazz styles. Rehearsals focus on developing vocal technique, musical confidence and ensemble skills, while maintaining an enjoyable and supportive atmosphere for singers of all experience levels.
The choir has performed both with and alongside a number of established local groups, including the Port of London Authority Choir and Hulviz Musical Society, taking part in concerts and community events across the area. From an original membership of just 17 singers, Synchordia Singers grew to an impressive 31 members within its first year, reflecting the inclusive and friendly nature of the group.
New members are always welcome, and we are particularly keen to strengthen our male voice sections. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please get in touch via our contact form.
