Synchordia Ensemble

The Synchordia Ensemble was the first part of Synchordia to be formed, beginning in 2009, and remains at the heart of the organisation. The ensemble brings together a wide range of musicians, from beginners and returning players to those with professional experience, creating a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone has a place.

The ensemble performs a varied repertoire spanning classical, popular and light music, and rehearsals focus on developing musicianship, confidence and ensemble skills while maintaining a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. Members are encouraged to progress at their own pace, with opportunities to perform both as part of the full ensemble and in smaller groups or featured roles.

Each year, the ensemble presents a major showcase concert, traditionally held in March, alongside Synchordia Singersand the Synchordia Saxophone Quartet. In addition to this annual concert, the ensemble regularly performs at community events, including the Gravesend Christmas Festival, and has collaborated with the Port of London Authority Choir and other local groups.

In 2019, Synchordia celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special programme featuring favourite pieces from the previous decade.
